Opening the Rubik's.com Cube

Postby CheeseCuber » Tue Jul 07, 2009 2:44 am

Well, got a cube (Rubik's.com one), solved it like 30-40 times but I can't open it.

This is the first cube I found that looks like it:

I tried to turn it 45 degrees and then pull out the middle block but it doesn't seem to work. At all the youtube vids it looks so easy. :P

Any hints, tips, ideas?
Do I need to use it more to get it smoother before I can open it?

My screwdriver can lift the middle block up a little but it won't move much and I don't want to break it. >.>

I have had rubik's brand cubes in the past that were like that. You just need to force it gently (if that makes any sense) just use a screw driver and slowly pop the piece out. When I did this, the cube never broke.

I'll give it a try. :S

EDIT: It rlly won't move more than like .2 cm... Even if I put alot of pressure on it with a big screwdriver, it's not rlly helping. The sidepiece directly underneath it is even starting to move.

An impossible cube, eh? I'm not really sure how to do this... I have tried to open stiff cubes. Just keep trying...

You need to put a lot of force on.. if its a DIY then take off the center caps loosen the screws and then take out the pieces.

Haha the first time i bought a storebought I was afraid to do that and i thought that it couldn't be disassembled. So i just sprayed silicon in and had fun lol.. A month or 2 later the cube popped and i figured out that i could take it apart lol.
