i have been trying to get the yellow cross for two days now and i cant get it completely because one of the edge pieces stays orange no matter what i do[:'(]

if it's only the one edge, and the entire first 2 layers are solved, then run the top layer 45 degrees, pop out the edge, and put it in the other way.

Just like he says.  Except we need to explain why.

If your first 2 layers are done, you should ALWAYS get 0,2, or 4 edges done - dot (0), L (2), Line (2) or cross (4).

1 or 3 done means you have an edge flip parity - not possible on odd numbered cubes (like your 3x3).  It means that at some point your cube was taken apart and reassembled incorrectly, or stickered wrong.
