Well I'm going pretty well with the 3x3x3 at the moment, averaging around 22 seconds. I still haven't beaten my 18.05 second record but I'm getting a lot more sub-20s these days.

Ya good luck learning ZB if you're too lazy to learn OLLs and PLLs. I honestly thing that the ZBF2L is too much memorizing for no good reason. You could honestly just use Petrus F2L which gives you the cross, or you could just fix the cross once you get to the top. ZBLL, I believe, is worth learning if you practice it really good. I learned some of the ZBLL algorithms and it helps me when I get to the top cross and I see one of the cases I've learnt. It's a lot faster then just using normal Petrus and if you learn one a day it should only take you about a year and a half to learn them all (try and revise them once in a while to not forget them or use them when you see a case when you solve), and about two years to be able to recognize the cases really good and have the method actually help your times a lot. Then give a few other years and you could say you mastered it since very few people even bother learning it. Therefore there's not many people who could tell you you didn't master it.

(Too much talking just to say that there's no way Rubix Cuber will learn ZB if he's to lazy to learn OLLs and PLLs)

Good Cubing!

I'm at 36.54 seconds now, I use a mix of Petrus, and the crappy layer method.

Not so much a speed cuber here.  I can do it in like... 4 minutes :P.   I use my own home-grown solution, so I imagine it's about as inefficient as they get.  However, my goal was just to solve it, not be ridiculously fast about it.
