I need some advice =)

Postby Kus » Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:37 am

Hi

I am cubeing for like 10 days now. Mostly in school 'cuz I don't have much spare time.

My best time is 1.59.46, my average is 2.23.45 and i am wondering how to make it faster.

1 thing is that my cube isn't lub'd (I realy don't know how) and i lose about 10 seconds here.

What should I do??

Twist the top 45 degrees and pop the middle top edge piece off and shove petroleum jelly in it.

just keep doing it, find where you preform best to what stimulus, like I do the best on the city bus listening to music and singing along.

But the most important bit is keep at it. you might get 2 minutes for a week and then drop to 1:30...

My best time is 15 seconds and i average arboud 23 seconds, that all just because of the method i use. If i were to use the layer by layer metod i would get aroud 35seconds. So it just depends on the method and how fast you can look ahead

Your speed depends on lots of things:  how good your cube is at avoiding lock ups (quality of build); how worn down (or broken in) it is; any lube used (NOT WD40!!!  I made that mistake once!); your skill; the method used (layer by layer is slow but easy); distractions and so on.

Either adjust your cube to make it faster, or buy a fast one.  Get lots of practice in and try to learn any tricks that cut corners!

If you get really fast, it often comes down to instinct and practice (so I've heard!)

Never put PJ into a cube. It destroys the plastic. Seriously after only 10 days you just need practice to get everything down.
