Rubik's Cube Lube

Postby Barney_C » Sat Oct 04, 2008 12:42 am

Hi, I am currently interested in lubing my 3 by 3 and 4 by 4 cubes in order to get faster times, and I'm wondering what is in the official rubik's cube lube that comes with the replacement stickers, would I be better to use vaseline or not?

I think the Rubik's Lube would be much better than vaseline. Vaseline is mostly used by people who don't have anything better at hand.

Silicone spray works just as well I think. So you don't need to buy the official lube, you can use silicone as well. But don't use vaseline, it's messier and doesn't work quite as good.

i think u should use vaseline for about 2 weeks

then clean it out with paper towels (make sure u get all of it)

sand it with a nail filer (optional)

use Rubiks Lube

vaseline just makes ur cube smoother, not nessecerily faster ( im not sure if i spelled that right)

it also thins out the inside of the cube (which will make it faster once u take out the vaseline)

if u do use vaseline remember to clean it out

ur welcome if this helps

Ummm that's just completely wrong.

You're much better off simply buying a can of silicone spray for under $10 at a hardware store. It works much better than anything else and will last a long time.

And NEVER, EVER, LET VASELINE TOUcH YOUR CUBE
