Metalic spring sound from cube

Postby Sepultic » Sun Oct 12, 2008 8:56 pm

Alright so i got my second cube today, an ICON, and whenever i turn it, it makes this like metallic springing sound. My first cube did this on one side and i got rid of it by lubing the mechanism. So do i need to just lube my cube (lols) and its done?

Not sure about Icon cubes.  I do know that every Rubiks brand 3x3x3 I ever owned makes that crunchy springy noise when it's turned.

I got what they call a 'Competition Standard Speed Cube' from Puzl.  That doesn't make those noises, despite being the same style as the Rubiks.  Also, none of my eastsheens make that noise.

btw, cheers for the referral points.  welcome on board [:)]

I heard about DIY type D with a type A core is 'the best'. Have you compared the cube from Puzl and a DIY cube Borginator2? Just wanna know what is really the best.

Heiowge (borginator2) doesn't have a Type D w/ Type A Nylon Core.
I do, though, and I think that it is the best cube ever made.
I've said this many times, and I stick by it.
It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
