hey just a rubiks cube as a present from a relative on holidays. just a cheap cube... not actual rubiks brand. i can solve it an all dat and i can get abotu 1min 30. which i wud guess is alrite for a cheapo cube and only learnin. but wud it be worth my money to buy a decent cube. or just mess about wit dis 1 for another while and wait till xmas or sumtin/

Some cubers go for the rubiks brand, some go for other brands, some for DIY cubes.  It's just a matter of what works for you.  If you're happy with the one you've got and it's not too slow - stick with it.  If you think it's time for a new cube, then get one.  If you ask which is best, you'll get a dozen different answers.

In my opinion, the most popular types here are:

DIY type D cube with type A core
DIY type D cube with standard core it comes with
DIY type A cube
Rubik's Cube (official)

Feel free to add one or two others if I've missed off your favs.
