My new 5x5x5 attacked me!

Postby dam427 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 5:55 pm

Hello all. New member as of today. My wife bought me a 5x5x5 Rubiks Cube for Christmas. (I know! she's the best!)

I was going through the motions of trying to solve it. (I'm no pro. After years of practice, it still takes me two minutes to solve the 3x3x3) After a half-hour of cubing , a part flew out of the cube and at my face. I'm Ok. But I have no idea where this piece came from, nor do I know how it even came out. It doesn't seem to affect performance at all. It's just sounds more like a baby's rattle now when I'm using it.

It's a small black tube with a square base, and one of the corners of the square base is rounded off. (If it were 10-times larger and made of crystal, it would make a pretty cool vase for a single rose.... Patent Pending)

Anyway. Does anyone know what happened?

I think that you should take a picture of it alongside your cube. You should also check for any gaps in the cube.
Also, Rubiks Brand 5x5x5s aren't meant for speedcubing.
To anyone else on the forum, does the Rubiks 5x5x5 contain internals?
lol, here to help ^_~

I will post a pic of the piece beside the cube when I get back from vacation.

This picture shows the pieces of a Rubik's 5x5x5. This picture shows a cube with some of the pieces put together.
