You have to understand that the manufacturer will always sell their own products for more money because they don't want to compete against the companies who are selling these products for them. If I was selling Rubik's products to make a living and I see that Rubik's sells them cheaper on their own website, I guarantee that I would stop selling them. Obviously the manufacturer can sell for less than anyone in the world, it's a matter of ethics that they increase the prices to avoid conflict with their own dealers/distributors.
Anytime you want to purchase something, visit the manufacturer's website to determine what you want, and then go shop it online elsewhere.
I purchased the Rubik's Touch Cube for less than $40 total and I got it brand new in package from eBay.
