Rubiks cubes!
kidding, although if someone made an edible gummy cube that can actually turn, that'll be amazing.

A good solving tip for you right now is to solve the cube a lot. Get comfortable with the method that you use. Learn and know all of the steps and algorithms.

Another tip is to make sure that your cube can turn well. You should be able to easily turn the top layer with one finger. If you can't do this, try lubricating the puzzle. Take it apart and spray all of the pieces, except the core, with one-hundred percent silicone spray. Let the pieces dry then put it back together. If the puzzle still doesn't turn easily, I recommend getting a new one.

Some good choices include the DaYan ZhanChi and the MoYu WeiLong. If you don't have a 3x3 that turns well, you will most likely acquire bad turning habits. Those habits can be hard to get rid of. A puzzle that turns well is not a requirement to cube though. You can solve and have fun with any 3x3.
