Ideas for new rubik's puzzles

Postby mrduck123 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 6:44 pm

Hello everyone!
I am a huge fan of Rubik's, and enjoy solving all types of puzzles. I was thinking the other day about Rubik's cubes, and I thought that it would be cool if Rubik's produced a cube that would play a different note for every side you turned. So if you turned the green side clockwise, it would always play a certain note, and if you turned the red side counter clockwise, it would play a different note.
this way, someone could easily learn how to solve the cube through sound, and you could make different songs built into your solving method. this would make a fun cube that i personally would buy in an instant.

Does anyone else have ideas for new cubes or puzzles?

For that puzzle you have to think about how it will look. I imagine that the wires will be too tangled. Also, check out twistypuzzles.com forum for many puzzles that are not even available in online stores (for a cheap price)
lol, here to help ^_~

A cube is also a rectangular prism. Just a regular one. ;)

Oh that's too true XD
Rubik's seems to be making no new actual cube products, except for the Rubik's void, which SEEMS to be ripped off from the void cube (I'm not sure of differences in the mechanism).

I got a void cube as a prezzie. The rubik's one I mean. It's much better than my old void cube. It spins so smoothly. Plus the colour scheme is nicer and I love the rounded edges, corners and "void". I recommend one.

The designer of the original void cube, Katsuhiko Okamoto, designed the Rubik's Void cube too.

Though not really a new product, Ernő Rubik is currently designing a speedcube. He's been working on it for five years.
