Is it possible for you to explain the method in more detail (or the name of the method)? ^_~
Anyway, You will have to learn how to look ahead efficiently. This means solving one piece while keeping track of another one.
Of course, there are also fingertricks. (There exist a few youtube vids)
Lastly, if the cube is bad you might want to consider buying a DIY cube.
lol, here to help ^_~

I've got sub-1min with CF. Just a few things to help:
• Have you got a good cube? As Sharkretriver said, a good cube really helps.
• When you say you can do Ortega corners... how fast can you do it on a normal 2x2 cube? I'd make sure you can get to under 10 seconds on average if you want to get under a minute.
• This page is a good place to learn how to do the edges. It takes a bit of practice to do this well enough to get under a minute, but with a good cube you should be able to do it. They're shown as algorithms there, but they aren't really.
• PRACTICE finger tricks and recognising the 8th step on that link. Doing the slices is difficult to begin with, but with practice they can be done quick enough to get under a minute.
Sorry I was slow replying, and good luck!
