As far as I know, the difference is that one is black and the other white!

The megaminx with ridges is designed to improve grip and therefore speed of solving. I'm not sure what is better. I have a good one that's not got ridges, but not the new one to compare it to.
Please take off topic discussion off this forum. Thanks.

So you don't know if there is a difference between the black one and the white!?

And what do you recommend? with or without ridges?

The colour of the cube decides what colour the plastic of the cube is. It doesn't really do anything else...buy based on your preference. =P
As for ridges, what borg said.
lol, here to help ^_~

I only own the one with ridges. I don't have the other one to compare it to.

If you are wondering which one to get, you can get the one that you think you would like. Then, if you don't like it, you can get the other one. A less expensive option would be to watch reviews of both versions on YouTube. The person reviewing the puzzle may show or say something about it that may help you decide.
