Opposing Sides Method for 3x3x3 Cube?

Postby Pigsywigsy » Mon Jul 08, 2013 8:25 pm

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, I've joined out of curiosity regarding methods of solving the 3x3x3 cube.

I got one for Christmas when I was 6, long time ago, they'd just came out at the time! Over the next few weeks I put together my own method of completing it, fast fwd approx 35 years and I got one again to see if I could remember how I'd done it, after a bit of head scratching it all came back to me. However looking recently online at videos of others completing the cube I can't find anyone doing it with a similar method, their approach always seems to be completing one side then layers down the cube. My method is getting the 4 corners and centre square in place on opposing sides, completing those opposing sides then putting the corners in place on the 4 remaining faces then completing them.

Can post a video online if this sounds unusual? Takes between 90 and 120 seconds usually.

Does anyone else use a similar method?

If it's not waterman method, then it's probably another corner first method. I've seen a few people use those, especially the ones who started a long time ago. The younger people usually go with CFOP and Roux now. o_O
lol, here to help ^_~
